Apparently, Mr Feinberg, aka business CZAR, will begin "negotiating" compensation levels with top management for the large firms that were recently "bailed" out by the government. As the Government now contends, "they were making too much for the too little services they provided their firm, and with to little relative benefit for the stockholders". "Thank you", is all I can say to Mr. CZAR. Go get em! (I am not a fond proponent of these zillion dollar deals, but i do buy stock, and if these firms do not deliver, I exercise my option to move my money to those that hopefully will)
Next, I hope they appoint a CZAR that will begin looking at the professional athletics that are negotiating 5, 10, 20, even a hundred million dollar deals. These negotiated salary/incentives are outrageous too! Perhaps, after the government negotiates players deals, we average Americans will be able to afford going to a game and buying a "hot dog and soda". "PAY FOR PLAY" should be the operative words (one home run/touch down/goal equals $100.00, for example). However in football, they will have to be fair and allow everyone an opportunity to score a touchdown. (I actually perfer attending little league and minor league games - they are much more exciting!)
You know, this could be the ticket....!
Speaking of tickets, what about state run lotterys. Why should the government get approximately half of the winnings? They don't pay half for the ticket in the first place! They already take a large share of the ticket revenues before they set the winning amount. And, the winning amount should never go above $1,000 (that way everyone can win). Winnings in the millions and hundreds of millions of dollars are ludicrous and anti-American, according to big Government.
Why should some States and the Government share upwards of .75 cents per gallon in gas revenues when they didn't pay to drill the gas wells.
Why stop there? Our Government might as well keep going to the other professions that are making a heck of a lot more than you and I, such as lawyers, politicians, other business owners, etc. Why not allow the government to assume total control and "LEVEL THE PAYING FIELD" for all of us? Why should my neighbor make more than me?!
Do you really think they would want to stop once the move starts???
Watch the salaries drop if no one buys tickets or stock of a company. (Thats what should happen in a free market place). When we exercise our choices wisely, we don't need Government making the choice for us.
I don't get it! (Apparently, neither should you!)

So, let's add to this. Of course this is off the cuff and I may regret speaking before I think, so to speak (pun intended). They tax my salary I worked for. Then they graciously add personal property taxes on everything I bought and was taxed when I bought it, Hummm, would that make it double dipped or triple dipped because isn't it double dipped when they tax my salary and then add the sales taxes. (not to mention the Gas tax you mentioned). Don't get me wrong I am not against helping others but it seems like the workers are then ones who pay for everybody and everything because the rich know the loop holes and the poor are given all the things I have to pay for for myself and for them.
ReplyDeleteAnd again speaking of that gas tax - they taxed me for any money the gas people gave me for destruction of property when they drilled then as the land owner I was taxed 40 to 50% of the profit before they took the .75 per gallon.
I must put in the right number of quarters (years) and be a certain age before I can get retirement but the president can work for 4 years and no matter his age get his salary the rest of his life?
Oh, and since women have the right to flit from one topic to another - randomly and it doesn't have to make sense, I with I was a weather person. It is the only job (except President or congress) that can do be wrong most of the time and still keep their job.
Well I guess this is mixed up and random enough to sign off how about you. Cindy B
You are absolutely on key, keep speaking "off the cuff" - some day that term may be taken out of our lexicon. Appreciate your comments! Thanks,b
